  • Network Support Worker– full time 37 hpw £17,891 pa – funded to 31/3/18
    To support our work with networks of voluntary organisations and community groups in South Derbyshire and beyond, including organising meetings and events, communication with members, and managing databases, mailing lists and other records.
  • Community Food Project Support Worker– full time 37 hpw or 2 x 18.5 hpw possible £17,891 pa – funded to 31/3/18
    To support the effective running of our food projects including handling, storing and distributing food donations, keeping records, liaising with clients and volunteers and general admin.
  • Part time/sessional Project Support Workersup to 18 hpw £17,891 pro rata 4 month contract/ sessional work £9.30 per hour

Direct Help & Advice (DHA) is an exciting, fast-paced and diverse Charity seeking to appoint a new Head of Finance to ensure an effective full financial management accounting service is delivered to meet the Charity and Trading Company’s goals in line with our strategic plan.

You will be a Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience of the non-profit sector and accounting for a charity. You will possess a strong track record of leading a finance department with the ability to think and work at a strategic level and drive forward change often in very challenging circumstances.

As a senior role reporting directly to the CEO, you will assist in leading on financial change and help drive activities and organisational efficiencies that will help grow and deliver the needs of the charity. You will need the ability to present financial information in an engaging way with effective decision making and be able to influence and engage others both internally and externally to the organisation. You will also be a team player, able to form good working relationships with your colleagues.
The successful candidates duties will include:
 Contributing to the Charity’s business development strategies
 Provision of financial forecasts, budgets and KPIs
 Monthly management accounts, KPI reports
 Monitoring and reporting of above to CEO, Board and senior management
 Management and delivery of the day to day financial support service.
 Statutory annual and quarterly accounts, VAT returns, etc.
 Payroll and pensions administration
 Maintenance of Finance & IT Risk Register and Disaster Recovery Plan

The post holder will also be required to co-operate with the Charity on all matters of compliance including Health and Safety, Safeguarding, child protection and welfare.

Brief Description
Changing Lives has significantly expanded over the past few years and now works nationally with people experiencing homelessness, addiction and a range of other problems by reaching out into communities. We also offer specialist support services for women and families, provide employment opportunities for our clients, and run several successful social enterprises.
Program Facilitators will be expected to work across both prisons with the main focus being HMP Foston Hall, delivering group work and one to one interventions. The Programme Facilitator will be expected to work in partnership with the CRC’s and other commissioned services across the East & West Midlands, to build on existing practice and community provision in order to increase engagement and reduce re-offending amongst women in contact with these services.
*Please note that there are two part-time roles and they are fixed term until 31st March 2019*

Sight Support Derbyshire is looking for a Project Worker to be part of a dedicated team supporting the delivery of high quality services to blind and partially sighted people in Derbyshire.

Part of the operational team based in Derby and reporting to the Service Manager, you will work across Derbyshire (including Derby City). You will need to be a ‘self-starter’ and able to work on your own initiative to ensure that services run smoothly and deliver the required outcomes.

The role of the Project Worker will initially provide support to an identified group of visually impaired people, helping them to find appropriate services to combat social isolation.  A good knowledge of the voluntary and community sector is required to ensure that people can be referred on and sign posted appropriately.

At a time of big changes in both voluntary and statutory services we need people who can be flexible, adapt to change and bring a positive attitude to their work.

It is essential that you understand how the voluntary and community sector works and also what statutory services are responsible for. Whilst it is desirable that you have experience in working with visually impaired people, it is not essential as training will be provided.

You will need access to a vehicle for work purposes and be able and willing to travel around the county.
