City and Guilds 7300 Train the Trainer
Wednesday 5th and Wednesday 12th June
9.30am – 4.30pm, South Derbyshire CVS, Grove Street, Swadlincote
£100 per person inlcuding accreditation fees

This accredited course is suitable for anyone new to training, or for those who need a basic qualification. Based on the training cycle it covers:
- Planning (including session planning)
- Delivery (including delivery of a prepared 10-15 minute session)
- Evaluation (self, peer group and course evaluation)

Free Regional Network Meetings

Safe Network is pleased to invite colleagues from the Voluntary and Community sector and from statutory partners including; Health, Police, Fire and Rescue to its inaugural series of FREE regional network meetings, this summer.
This series of network meetings will provide the opportunity to:
• Explore, debate and learn about the impact of Working Together 2013 on the voluntary and community sector
• Hear about next steps and developments for Safe Network and identify support needs within the voluntary and community sector

The regional network meetings are free, and aimed at:
• Frontline children and young people’s voluntary and community sector organisations,
• Local Safeguarding Children Board Chairs, business managers, safeguarding managers and lay members,
• Voluntary and Community Sector representatives on LSCB’s, Health and Wellbeing Boards or Children’s Partnership Boards
• Safe Network champions, supporters and key partners including those from; Health, Schools and Leisure

Southern Derbyshire Health and Social Care Forum

Save the date – Thursday 4th July

The next Southern Derbyshire Health & Social Care Forum will be on Thursday 4th July 2013 and will be held at:
Erewash Volunteer Centre
Granville Avenue
Long Eaton
Derbyshire
NG10 4HD

The agenda has yet to be finalised but will include discussions with Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust about how they can engage and work better with voluntary and community organisations and an update from Healthwatch Derbyshire.

The meeting will be held in the morning followed by lunch. After lunch there will then be holding a brief meeting for voluntary and community representatives only. We hope that this will give Forum members the opportunity to have open and frank discussions and reach agreement on a collective response from the Forum about issues which may have arisen from the morning session.

More details and booking information will be sent out over the next few weeks but please get this date in your diary now.

Derbyshire Volunteer Passport

FREE training for volunteers who support children and young people in Derbyshire.
Do you volunteer or are you thinking of volunteering?
Then this course is for you!
There are 5 sessions, which cover:
* 21st June – Equality and Diversity
* 28th June – Health and Safety
* 5th July – First Aid
* 12th July – Safeguarding
* 19th July – Getting the opinions of children and young people

All sessions run from 9.30am – 12.30pm at South Derbyshire CVS, 46-48 Grove Street, Swadlincote, DE11 9DD

When you have finished training you will be awarded a certificate and a Volunteer Passport ID badge. The ID badge will awarded to volunteers who have a current CRB/DBS (criminal record) check. We can help you get a CRB/DBS check if you don’t already have one.
Courses are run at South Derbyshire CVS in Swadlincote and other locations around the district. There are programmes running both during the day and evening. don’t worry if you can’t make one of the sessions – you can complete iton the next programme.

Newlands House 2013 Fete

Newlands House will be celebrating their 18th Annual Fete on Saturday 8th June, 12.00pm – 5.00pm, in the grounds of Newlands House, Main Street, Netherseal, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, DE12 8DA.
There will be food, stalls, live music, acts and performances, displays, dog show and a RAF Flypast.
Entrance is £1.50 (under 12′s are free).

Sing4health

You will be part of a team which is responsible for managing and developing health and social care services to vulnerable people across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Staff and volunteers support people to regain their confidence and independence after illness or incapacity. The team works closely with statutory and voluntary sector partners.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic person, with experience of managing and motivating people in the delivery of health and social care services. You should have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with external organisations. An understanding of quality monitoring and reviewing standards is essential. A current driving licence and access to a car will be necessary.
