City and Guilds 7300 Train the Trainer
Wednesday 5th and Wednesday 12th June
9.30am – 4.30pm, South Derbyshire CVS, Grove Street, Swadlincote
£100 per person inlcuding accreditation fees

This accredited course is suitable for anyone new to training, or for those who need a basic qualification. Based on the training cycle it covers:
- Planning (including session planning)
- Delivery (including delivery of a prepared 10-15 minute session)
- Evaluation (self, peer group and course evaluation)

FREE training for volunteers who support children and young people in Derbyshire.
Do you volunteer or are you thinking of volunteering?
Then this course is for you!
There are 5 sessions, which cover:
* 21st June – Equality and Diversity
* 28th June – Health and Safety
* 5th July – First Aid
* 12th July – Safeguarding
* 19th July – Getting the opinions of children and young people

All sessions run from 9.30am – 12.30pm at South Derbyshire CVS, 46-48 Grove Street, Swadlincote, DE11 9DD

When you have finished training you will be awarded a certificate and a Volunteer Passport ID badge. The ID badge will awarded to volunteers who have a current CRB/DBS (criminal record) check. We can help you get a CRB/DBS check if you don’t already have one.
Courses are run at South Derbyshire CVS in Swadlincote and other locations around the district. There are programmes running both during the day and evening. don’t worry if you can’t make one of the sessions – you can complete iton the next programme.

A series of one day workshops for all of those who work with vulnerable young people. The aim of the day will be to help you in supporting young people with understanding, managing and making financial decisions.

There are still around 8 million people in the UK who don’t use the internet. Some have never been on the internet and others “had a look” some years ago and haven’t been back since!

ESCVS have launched a new service to help ANYONE get on-line with our FREE and easy basic computer training. The training will be particularly useful if you’re looking for work and need to access the new government website www.direct.gov and register for Universal Jobmatch.

Starting in April ESCVS are delivering Online Basics and Online Basics Plus- two 1 ½ hour sessions covering:-

  • How to use a Keyboard & Mouse
  • Using Email
  • Searching the Internet
  • Using Government Websites (including Universal Jobmatch accounts)
  • Staying healthy on-line

There’s no “techy talk”, just easy to follow, step by step help and support to get you started on line. Training is delivered at the Voluntary Services Centre in Union Street, Burton on Trent and at other venues around East Staffordshire.

A Religious Diversity Workshop will be held on Tuesday 21st May, 9.30am – 16.30pm

This workshop explores the art and challenges of living with diversity.
Workshop participants will:
• Increase their understanding of the issues related to religious diversity
• Share their experiences of religion and culture
• Learn to recognise stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination related to religion
• Increase their skills in order to help to create a more inclusive diverse environment
• Gain personal and career development in today’s multi-cultural society.
The cost of the workshop is £55 per person, including refreshments and a buffet lunch, an attendance certificate and a resource pack.
