A Cathedral Seminar on Assisted Dying
“How do we befriend death? Reflections on Assisted Dying”
Dr James Woodward
Monday 30th April 2012 at 7.30pm
In the Retro Choir of Derby Cathedral
Dr Woodward will introduce the topic, there will be time for Q&A, then drinks in the Cavendish Area.
The issue is highly topical. The Falconer Commission recently recommended a change to the present law in this area. The General Synod of the Church of England strongly rejected that recommendation. But the issue remains raw for many families and for some working professionally in this area.
James Woodward is a Canon of St George’s Chapel Windsor, an accomplished author on issues to do with ageing, death and spirituality. He has been a senior hospital chaplain.
The evening is being sponsored by the Montgomery Trust, and is open to all.
